Office/Administration Manager/Bookkeeper
The Offer
This role is to support the Victorian Branch of the CBCA. The branch is an incorporated association and reports to Consumer Affairs Victoria (CVA). The branch has a constitution and a volunteer committee. Join a national, not-for-profit team supporting reading and literacy outcomes for children.
A work from anywhere role with flexibility on days/hours worked (6 to 8 hours per working week).
Negotiated workload during school holiday periods, with higher levels of activity during March for new memberships and Children’s Book Week (August each year). A competitive hourly rate is on offer for the successful candidate.
The role
A sub-contract role working 6 to 8 hours across a working week. Some of your duties will include:
- Managing the weekly operations of the Victorian Branch of the CBCA, including primary point of contact for receiving and responding to all email correspondence, managing office supplies, web site updates and 3rd party suppliers (banking/technology/auditors etc.)
- Ensure spreadsheets for budgets for budgets for events and projects are kept up to date.
- Managing all membership duties including queries, updating membership details, on-boarding new members and emailing members as required by the committee.
- Supporting and coordinating event bookings such as Night of the Notables, Book of the Year events, Judges Talks, Celebration of Creatives and other VIC Branch events.
- Supporting the development of Treasurer, Communications and Membership Reports, along with any other reports requested by the committee for the monthly Victorian Branch meetings.
- Maintain records of budgets approved and motions approved in a spreadsheet.
- Support to the Victorian president and committee as required.
- Develop an understanding of the CBCA governance requirements with the ability to advise the executive committee of concerns.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date work instructions on procedures undertaken by the branch.
- Complete the branch BAS Statements for the financial year (if a BAS Agent).
The Candidate
To be effective in this role, you will have:
- Prior senior administrative or office management experience.
- Solid technical skills and able to pick up new systems quickly.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and able to work with a broad membership base
- Demonstrate good organisational skills and able to prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- BAS Agent accreditation (preferred but not required).
