The Children's Book Council of Australia was established in NSW in1945. The Victorian Branch was established in 1954. The Children's Book Council of Australia is a national organisation with a branch in every state and territory. Its aim is to engage the community with literature for young Australians and foster in childrens' enjoyment of books.
